Mobile Play Team
Introduction
As a childcare project caring for children from 6 weeks to 16 years of age, our facility offers a range of services to suit the needs of children and families and client groups such as schools, local communities and organisations, either as a one off event or on a regular basis.
This flexible service, which is now in its 11th year, and is regulated by The Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care, operates 7 days a week, from 8am till 10pm, 50 weeks per year.
Creche Service
Open to organisations and community groups who provide educational training courses and recreational activities and require childcare for participants.
Afterschool Clubs
Held at 5 different locations each week, our clubs, which are free of charge, are open to children from primary 1 to 7. Children have the opportunity to develop social skills and participate in a range of play activities.
Playground Sessions
Our playground sessions are offered to 5 primary schools on a weekly basis during the children’s lunch break. A variety of planned fun activities, which focus on health and fitness, are promoted and delivered to all primaries. This service enables the children to learn new skills and develop fine and gross motor skills.
Fun days
Our fun days can be accessed by local communities, organizations and schools. Dependant on the level of service required and available staff, we can provide activities for 10 to 150 children at any one time. Children from 3 to primary 7 are provided with the opportunity to extend their knowledge and understanding of play activities in a fun manner.
Play sessions
This area of our service can be accessed by various organisations and apply to children from 3 to 16 years of age. Our exciting play sessions provide the children with a range of new and traditional activities, thus leading to increased learning and development.
Training in Play
This service is open to childcare training organizations who, as part of their student’s long term training, wish to learn and extend their knowledge and understanding of children’s activities and the effective use of resources.
Loan service
The play team has built up a significant range of play resources which may be beneficial to local groups who are organizing children’s events and who are looking to add additional resources which will expand the choice of activities available to the children.
