GERA’s mission is to contribute to a confident, healthy and prosperous East End by getting people into or back into work, helping them stay and progress in work and bringing a wider choice of work opportunities within their grasp. We are anchored in Greater Easterhouse and Parkhead but connect to opportunities in the wider conurbation; Greater Easterhouse and Parkhead gives to and draws from that wider economy.
Our Business
GERA’s business is economic regeneration - maximising the ability of people and organisations to create and harness the opportunities for work that bring incomes and wealth and the consequent capacity to participate in society generally.
Our role involves:
| Providing services and developing initiatives that help people fulfil their ambitions and potential. We do not do things for people; we work with them so that they can do them. | Developing innovative solutions to the barriers and problems faced by The East End of Glasgow and its people. This calls for us to be abreast of what is happening locally, nationally and globally and demonstrate leadership. | Concentrating our efforts where we can make the most difference alongside mainstream public-sector initiatives. |
